Plus Fitness Bomaderry PT Raises Key Funds for Soldier On Charity!

8 April 2021

During March, Plus Fitness combined forces to promote and support the charity ‘Soldier On’. ‘Soldier On’ pays tribute to the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers in Kokoda during World War II, as well as highlights the importance of the need to increase the help and support provided to all Australian Soldiers in an effort to prevent veteran suicide.

Plus Fitness WA and SA Field Manager, Michael Carpenter, learnt of the charity and the ‘March On with Soldier On’ virtual walking challenge that was organised for March 2021 and thought it would be a great idea for Plus Fitness to incorporate this into its monthly Member App Challenge, so naturally, we jumped on board!

The challenge was a 96km virtual walk (the length of the Kokoda track) and needed to be completed in 31 days. As well as clocking up the 96kms, Plus Fitness Members, Franchisees and Staff were encouraged to raise funds for the mental health services and programs run and supported by ‘Soldier On’.

The collective Plus Fitness family made an amazing effort across March by both being a part of the fundraising challenge as well as raising awareness of the important issues championed by ‘Soldier On’.

A special mention must go to Plus Fitness Bomaderry, NSW Personal Trainer Manny Tsiolakis who literally hit the ground running with this challenge. Through his efforts, Manny managed to raise over $1,000 for Soldier On as well as increased awareness of veteran suicide and the need for a greater level of support, through his social media activity. An amazing effort by Manny and as a brand we applaud his efforts.

Soldier On is here for ongoing support but they do not provide crisis support. If you are in a crisis, please contact our charity partner Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636 or head to
