Plus Fitness Racing's André Heimgartner to run NZ-inspired livery for home race in Auckland
12 Sept. 2019
André Heimgartner will run a unique New Zealand-inspired livery on his #7 Plus Fitness Racing Nissan Supercar this weekend at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint. André grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, before moving to Australia at seventeen-years old to pursue a career in motorsport. Since then he has seen great success in a number of categories and is currently Kelly Racing’s highest ranked driver in the Supercars Championship standings.
To celebrate André’s success and Kiwi heritage, the team has produced a unique New Zealand livery in conjunction with its paint supplier PPG and vinyl partner Graphic Art Mart that will be unmissable on track at Pukekohe – the venue that André first started his racing career.
The livery features a matte black and white theme - colours
which are iconic in Kiwi sport. The black and white theme is then offset by two
large chrome finish Silver Ferns down the sides of the car – this reflective
material is also used at the front and rear of the car while gloss black ferns
stretch over the roof of the car.
This livery is all about the subtle details and another
feature is the large map of New Zealand on the roof of the car finished in
gloss black on the matte black background. The unique mix of matte, gloss black
and white really gives the car an unmistakably Kiwi flavour.
André Heimgartner, Plus Fitness Racing #7
“I’m extremely proud of what the team has produced, this has
to be the best-looking race car I’ve had, the black and white theme on the car
looks incredible and it’s great to give back to the New Zealand fans with a
livery that’s dedicated to them. I’m really thankful for the support Kelly
Racing has given me and the effort they have put in to do something special for
my home round.”
“We had reasonable pace at Pukekohe last year and it’s a
track that I know well, and coming off the strong performance we had at The
Bend a few weeks ago I think we can continue to move forward and deliver some
positive results for the team.”
John Fuller, Plus Fitness Founder & CEO
“Plus Fitness is tremendously proud and honoured to support Kelly Racing in the celebration of Andre’s success and heritage. Andre has been outstanding in this year’s championship and wish him all best at his homecoming. The car itself looks immaculate, a great job on behalf of the entire team!”
